...Ensoleillé, Sonnig, Ensolarado, Sunčan, ηλιόλουστος, Soleggiato, 晴朗, Soleado...
I'm tired of winter! The cold, damp, gloomy
weather is really affecting me, I have noticed lately that I'm drawn to the
colour yellow. I think it has to do with how much I love summer and yellow is
such a beautiful summery color. Since I have basically no yellow in my home or
wardrobe , this post is an inspiration to change that.
Since the color yellow isn't necessarily a simple colour to wear you really need to think beforehand if you want to get it right.
The
easiest way to wear it is as an one piece! Which would of course be a yellow evening dress.
Yellow takes on different qualities according
to how it’s combined, for instance, alternating yellow and black in an outfit
may make you look like a human-sized bumblebee, or may make you look fantastic
like Inès de La Fressange or the gorgeous model above...
Even though yellow has been described as
the perfect gender-neutral, it’s not uncommon for men to shy away from wearing
yellow when putting together an ensemble each morning.
Use yellow like a light note of color
against a multitude of neutral shades, rather than a head-to-toe yellow
look...except when you look like him!
When you decide to wear yellow, let's face it: you have just decided that you want to be noticed, and not in the most subtle way possible.
Of course,
there are plenty of other ways to bring yellow into your life. If wearing yellow makes you look like you were dead for two weeks, you could still try with some yellow inspired art piece.

Yellow it's bright, loud, and holds the eye instantly...Pfffiiihhh! TAXI!!!!
TAXI!!!!
But, if your
still scared of yellow, try a yellow head- scarf, or shoes. Or even a yellow clutch to add a splash of sunshine to your outfit!
What's
the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of the color
yellow?
Sunshine? Sun-flowers? Lemons?...or maybe delicious and decadents lemon bars?

As you must already deduced it's cold and rainy outside here in the Southern Cone, so... give me
a moment to lament the loss of warm weather and bright sunshine. (SIGH.) OK, moving on...

Yellow always lifts me up...in fact, I just bought a necklace the other day with a weird colored stone on a gold chain, and I'm just about to paint the stone neon yellow. :) We must be having the same vibes. Sending summer love from hot Texas!!

Hi Ines! Such a happy post! I agree with yellow.. has to be carefully thought out, maybe just a pop in the wardrobe. Winters have the same effect on me and so I bring yellow into the kitchen. Those lemon bars, yellow flowers, and lemons are perfect!

I like yellow but don't wear it often, it doesn't go well with my skin tone and colours. However it does lift up my mood so I think I should wear it more often...
ReplyDeleteRosalie, I think that too!
DeleteHugs!
I love yellow! have some yellow spots at home and also a yellow dress I love, but must admit, rarely wear. As you said, it is not the easiest color to wear but its wonderful!

I love pops of yellow and that short little dress would be perfect for this summer. The cool part about yellow is that as soon as you wear it, it makes you feel more energized and happy. Have a beautiful day, sweetie. xoxox
ReplyDeleteThat was my same thought, Diana!
DeleteBig hugs sweetie!
I really love your lovely comment! You are amazing! I'm looking forward to a new post!

SO energetic! I love it :)
ReplyDeleteWow, impressive, as usual! I don't wear a lot of yellow...When shopping for clothes, yellow is not the color that grabs my attention the most. Not sure why! I think your visuals and analysis have given me a new perspective on the color.
ReplyDeleteI also checked out Debbie's blog...it's outstanding! Thanks so much for sharing! Besotes!
I have the same problem, I love to see it, it's energetic, but...
DeleteBesitos, Elsa!

I adore this post Inés! A simple pop of yellow is such an easy way to add cheer to any outfit or room especially when it's gloomy outside and you need something to brighten up your day. I don't really have any yellow in my wardrobe or home either but it's a color I enjoy. I love that in New York our taxis are yellow. It's great to look at especially when it's cold and dark outside.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your support and friendship sweetie!

As a self-appointed Champion of Color, I feel it is my duty to encourage everyone to wear more color, and yellow: feels like early morning sunshine! I love every single photo you selected Inez!
ReplyDeleteKisses
Ines, This sunny post was SO needed. It's a tough day at the office, and to take a bit of a break, I came to visit your blog. The brightness and beauty are energizing.
ReplyDeleteBesos,
Ani.
Great yellow finds! I especially loves the dress from the Vogue Loves Me photo... xo style, she wrote
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, love yellow color :)
ReplyDeleteYellow is such a happy colour and yet I don't have anything bright yellow in my wardrobe or in my home. I think starting with a pop of yellow is the thing to do - like that gorgeous yellow clutch or some artwork (I love those two rooms!) I'm a huge fan of anything lemon-flavoured - lemon meringue pie is a favourite! Lots of wonderful inspiration here for bringing some yellow into my life!!

I just love yellow. It is one of the most perfect colours to wear for summer.Especially when your tan goes darker. And i love when autumn is coming and the earth is turning light yellow...........So romantic....
ReplyDeleteWishing you the best for the weekend!!!
