Simply Pink & Awareness

Breasts, Boobies, Tits, Tatas, Seins, Seios, Peitos, Brüste, Bryster, сиськи, грудь, Sise, Dojke, βυζιά, στήθος, Cycki, Piersi, 胸部, 乳房, Tette, Seni, Pechos, Pechugas, Mamas, Senos, Tetas...

As most of us already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pink should be everywhere! That's why I decided to try and provide a little context to what this whole breast cancer awareness is about... it's not just an excuse to say "boobies" and "tatas"!!!
Como la mayoría de nosotros ya sabemos, Octubre es el Mes de Concientización sobre el Cáncer de Mama ¡y el rosa debe estar en todas partes! Es por eso que decidí intentar ofrecer un pequeño contexto sobre lo que esta toma de conciencia sobre el cáncer de mama trata...¡que es mucho más que una excusa para decir "pechugas" y "tetas"!


If you or someone close to you is a survivor, or if you just want to show some support in pink, these are same great ways to do so!
Si tú o alguien cercano a ti es un sobreviviente, o si lo que deseas es mostrar algo de apoyo en rosa, ¡estas son algunas buenas formas de hacerlo!



Choose pink, in roses to your home, or like a pattern in pants...
Elige color de rosado en rosas para su casa, o como un estampado en pantalones...



Choose pink to dress...
Elige rosa para vestir...



 Whatever is warm or cold where you live...
Ya sea cálido o frío a donde vives...

Choose pink if you are a woman...
Elige rosado si eres mujer...

The color pink this month symbolizes awareness, and support...no matter if it's in lovely ballerinas...
El color rosa, este mes simboliza conciencia y apoyo...no importa si es en unas adorables ballerinas...



...or in amazing heels...
...o en unos tacones increíbles...



...or delicate and absolutely stylish purses.
No matter the shade of pink you choose...
...o en delicados y absolutamente estilosos bolsos de mano.
No importa el tono de rosado que elijas...


No le temas al futuro.
Just choose to wear pink...pink means hope. It is a positive color which inspires warm and comforting feelings, and a sense that everything will be okay...
Sólo elige usar rosado...rosa significa esperanza. Es un color positivo que inspira sentimientos de afecto y confort, y la sensación de que todo va a estar bien...

 The Pink Ribbon was created by Evelyn Lauder and Alexandra Penney, editor in chief of Self magazine to create a symbol of breast cancer awareness. You can check support Estee Lauder Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign on Facebook.

 Breast Cancer Awareness is not just for people with cancer, its not just for women, and it's not all done in one month.
I would like to encourage everyone to go get screened, or at least to pass along the message to someone who should. If breast cancer is detected early and localized, 90% survive more than five years. Don’t waste time practice early detection and encourage loved ones to do the same. 
La Concientización sobre el Cáncer de Mama no es sólo para las personas con cáncer, no es sólo para las mujeres, y no todo debe hacerse en un mes.
Me gustaría alentar a todos a realizarse los chequeos de detección, o por lo menos a transmitir este mensaje a alguien que debería hacérselos. Si el cáncer de mama se detecta y localiza temprano, un 90% de los casos sobrevive por más de cinco años. No pierdas más tiempo, practica la detección temprana y alienta a tus seres queridos a hacer lo mismo.

There are many things we can do to get involved and show our support such as donating money or wearing a pink ribbon or turning our posts pink to rise awareness.
Hay muchas cosas que podemos hacer para involucrarnos y demostrar nuestro apoyo,  como donar dinero o usar un lazo de color rosa o colorear nuestras posts de rosado y así  aumentar la concientización.


October not only is breast cancer awareness month, but it's also Domestic Violence Awareness month. You can show your support by following Project Strength or in Facebook,
Octubre no sólo es el Mes de Concientización sobre el Cáncer de Mama, sino también el mes de la Concientización sobre el Abuso Doméstico. Tú puedes mostrar tu apoyo siguiendo Project Strength o en Facebook, porque en el compartir está el alivio.

    So good that you are raising awareness in such a creative way with a wonderful choice of images (as usual!) I'm a fan of the palest of pink just like that beautiful blouse. The Eiffel Tower picture is lovely too. I know a lot of companies are supporting the campaign by donating some of their profits from pink products. I'll definitely be buying something pink from them this month!

    wonderful post! i do have a friend that is a breast cancer survivor. she was only about 30 when she found out and she had to have a double mastectomy. i learned through her experience that is it a myth that you can't get it while you are young. sadly many of her "sisters" (those battling breast cancer) are also young! i hope that someday in the states they will begin allowing mammogram screenings to younger women. right now i think the average age they offer it as a "free screening" is 55!
